We’re currently looking to fill the following positions.

CDL Driver And Yard Inventory Specialist

Position Summary

The Class A Driver (local driving only) and Yard Inventory Specialist position aids in managing the daily pick-up schedule and the checking in and out of our auction items. An effective Yard and CDL Driver employee is key to the overall efficiency of equipment inventory and maintaining a high sense of customer service and quality standards.

This is a hands-on labor position in that the inventory Specialist/CDL Class A driver must work alongside his or her team to complete daily tasks. This position would report to and work with the Auction Manager and other yard employees, perform regular equipment maintenance, monitor and track inventory, and work with the expediting department on loads for pickup.

The ideal candidate can recall details and information from previous weeks. Our facility has thousands of items moving in and out each week. The Yard Specialist/CDL driver must be able to keep an accurate record of all inventory moving to and from the yard. The ideal candidate must have knowledge/experience in heavy equipment, commercial trucks, rental equipment, and/or construction. The ability to work well under pressure, stand for long periods, have an excellent work ethic, follow and practice safety procedures, and be able to work in an industrial environment – inside and outside year-round.

All candidates must qualify to work in a drug-free environment and be able to pass a background check and drug test.

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Coordinate yard operations within company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with daily yard operations, including managing inventory receiving, auction set-up/staging, and vehicle documentation/check-in.
  • Ensure truckloads leaving the yard are accurately loaded and responsible for the quantity, quality, and accuracy of inventory released from the yard.
  • Maintain yard organization, condition, efficiency, and safety.
  • Perform work assigned by the Operations Manager to ensure successful order and display of the yard and warehouse.
  • Have a good knowledge of DOT rules & regulations

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of work experience in construction, equipment rentals, dealership, parts/warehouse, or applicable industrial yard.
  • HIGH level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-sensitive environment.
  • Flexible, dependable, team-oriented, and self-motivated. The ability to look around and find what needs to be done without direction.
  • Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License and insurable driving record and become certified to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to safely operate a broad range of equipment, including aerial work platforms, telehandlers, backhoes, excavators, and skid steers.
  • Ability to load safely and effectively, bind/secure, and offload construction equipment and freight during a shift assignment that could last between 8 and 10 hours.

Sales Manager

Position Summary

As a Sales Manager, the ideal candidate will:

  • Understand heavy equipment and know how to sell and sell well.
  • Must have a proven track record of prior successful sales team leadership.
  • Manage a team of outside sales reps.
    • Including hiring, accountability KPIs, providing targets, and leading by example.
  • Review prior sales programs at the company, redefine/create a sales program, and train your team to follow and succeed.
  • Support existing clients and have the ability to conduct equipment demonstrations.
  • Evaluate customers’ needs and provide solutions based on our services.
  • Monitor the market and competitors’ services, prices, auctions, and sales.
  • Utilize our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to help manage daily contacts and follow-ups.
  • Travel 3 to 5 days per week to assist your sales staff and up to a week per quarter to attend auctions, trade shows, and training.
  • Represent J. Stout Auctions at professional association conferences and trade shows.
  • Assist with equipment appraisals on a variety of equipment.
  • During auctions, be on-site to network with the team and assist with auction needs.
  • Meet established goals and sales quotas.
  • Works closely with the marketing team to ensure items are featured appropriately.
  • Collaborate and present status updates at the weekly management meetings.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field preferred.
  • Must have the ability to use Excel, Word, CRM (Salesforce, MS Dynamics, Monday.com, or similar), and Outlook, and must be comfortable working on a computer.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales with a strong track record of success.
  • Experience in developing and executing territory sales strategies.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Must be persistent, energetic, and organized.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals.
  • Previous work experience with heavy equipment, commercial trucks, and/or equipment rentals.

Inside Sales Coordinator

Position Responsibilities

  • Coordinate sales team by assisting throughout the sales transaction
  • Ensure the adequacy of sales-related paperwork and assist in getting all proper documentation in from customers
  • Give after-sales support when requested and follow up with customers
  • Store and sort financial and non-financial data in electronic form and present reports
  • Handle the processing of all orders with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support the entire outside sales team, including salesmen in different territories, with home office support
  • Monitor the team’s progress, identify shortcomings, and propose improvements
  • Assist in the preparation and organizing of promotional material or events
  • Ensure adherence to laws and policies
  • Assist in sales generation, lead follow-up, CRM input/management, and necessary sales assistance
  • Ensure all sales policies and procedures are being met, offering assistance to maintain compliance
  • Audits sales analysis and month-end reports
  • Makes outgoing sales-related calls
  • Takes incoming calls and directs customers where necessary
  • Assist the Marketing team as assigned to further support the sales team
  • Performs general administration duties
  • All other duties assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Must have the ability to use Excel, Word, CRM (Salesforce, MS Dynamics, Monday.com, or similar), and Outlook, and must be comfortable working on a computer.
  • Experience in sales and cold calling is a plus.
